Tangled Up in You

When I found out there was a rom-com book inspired by my favorite Disney movie, I had to read it. Rapunzel is an amazing character. She’s creative and spunky. Eugene is one of the best Disney princes, but in the film, we don’t know a lot about his past.

The book explores these characters in a deeper way through both of their points of view. That was one of the best things about it. Watching these characters grow closer on a road trip to help Ren, our Rapunzel, understand her past. And this is a big step for Ren, because she has been living off the grid. She’s not like everyone else. She has no phone and very different interests and hobbies than anyone her age.

She intrigues Fitz, our Eugene, and challenges him to look beneath the surface and decide what really matters to him. As he helps Ren solve the mystery, he discovers a new side of himself. While Ren goes to places and does things that she had always wanted to for the first time, Fitz begins to understand why those moments mean so much to her.

Both discover something new that they never expected, or planned for, a relationship where they can be who they really are.

I enjoyed how they modernized key moments in Tangled: the Snuggly Duckling, the kingdom tour, lights, and of course Rapunzel’s revelation.

I enjoyed reading this, and it’s my favorite out of all the Meant to Be series.
